All About Me

 WHO I AM

I have studied photography for over 40 years, yet still get excited when I pick up my camera.

I am impassioned by photography, but especially captivated by nature and landscapes. In our lives of constant change, I find great peace in finding and photographing the natural things in our world. Things that, though constantly changing, don’t change.

I believe that nature can give us a sense of peace, of majesty, of wonder. My hope is that the viewer of my work can feel this as well.

WHAT I DO

I take pictures, primarily scenic shots of nature and scapes. My use of the term "scapes" include cityscapes, seascapes, skyscapes, and of course, landscapes. My goal, while shooting, is to capture a scene that speaks to me, and to accurately transfer it to print. I love taking my camera and seeing what I can find and deciding how I want to capture it.

I love to share my work with others so that they, too, can appreciate and enjoy the beautiful world around us, and be encouraged to go out and find beauty in their own, personal world.

I believe that my images are not quite finished until they are in print, and I shoot with the finished print product in mind.

I sell prints and digital files of my work, and am also available for occasional shoots. If you are interested in either, please visit my Buy page or Contact Me directly for shoots. If not, please enjoy viewing my photos!

HOW I DO IT

I shoot manually, creating RAW files which are then processed to a viewable file. I shoot in manual, as I enjoy "making" the shot by setting exposure and depth of field specific to each shot. I use ambient light, along with a reflector and an occasional flash for fill depending on the situation. I shoot RAW because I want my camera to record what it sees, as it is, without any adjustments or processing done internally. I may use creative freedom in some of my images, but never to the degree of altering the landscape. I may use a neutral density or polarizing filter to draw out the natural beauty of a location from haze or glare. As my style evolves, my processing may as well. However, I will never change the control both Manual and RAW settings give me.

My monitor is color calibrated to international standards, however I still quality check each print from the lab before sending on to my customer. This is a paragraph. This is a great place for you to tell your clients more about your story and to describe the type of photographer you are. You can come back at any time to make more changes.
